Water to water
Korle Lagoon is located in the west part of the city center of Accra, the capital of Ghana and it was fed buy the Odaw River. Korle Lagoon flows directly to the Atlantic Ocean and delivers 1.300.000 kg plastic emission per year, 32.064 389 kg mismanaged plastic waste per year into it. The gathered plastic waste become of swimming islands and there are some periods in year when the surface of the water is not visible by the plastic waste. Industries and settlements on the shores of the lagoon led, by 2002, to it being described as "one of the most polluted water bodies on Earth". The lagoon was believed to be inhabited by a spirit, who used its powers to enchant a woman named Dede, and used her to convince the group to settle in the location, in order to worship the spirit.
